Some things you probably don't care about

Random thoughts and updates and things I love this month:

- Do not blush furiously the next time you see a friend. Who you had a dream about. A not-so-appropriate dream. I repeat: DO NOT BLUSH. And don't accidentally give her that look. Because you do not mean that look. You don't. It came unbidden to your unconscious. You don't mean it. So STOP IT.

- Sometimes if you wait long enough, you get exactly what you want and exactly what you need.

- I've noticed that when you're about to go to the gym, it’s super important that you let as many people know as possible whether via twitter, facebook or your blog. More calories are burned when you brag about it.

- My life schedule: worry worry worry worry worry worry worry...rinse and repeat.

- I'm probably the only one rooting for Olivia Palermo on The City. I'm sorry people, but I CAN'T HATE HER. She's too impeccably dressed. And there are of course things about her that annoy me but I feel like MTV constantly makes her out to be the bad guy.

- It's "a lot" and not "alot" people.

- Obsession this month: Wildfox Couture tees

My boyfriend bought me one and I absolutely love it! The material is so soft and flowy. It's a dream. View the whole collection here.

- Frozen yogurt at Spoon Me on Kensington. YUM:

- Playing video games with my sweetheart. It's pretty rad.

How NOT to study. It's crucial knowledge. All the smart kids are doing it.

So like I've said, I haven't been blogging in the last week mostly because of school and studying for my midterms. And by "studying" I really mean cracking open my textbook for the first time, inhaling that new book smell, reading a paragraph, and then slamming it shut a minute later to browse asos.com. Don't start laughing because I am not joking.

If there's one thing I'm spectacular at, it's wasting time.

I'm not a good studier. I don't think anyone would say that they're good at it, but I am just really that bad. I don't know the meaning of diligence. Focus? What's that? Concentration? Never heard of it. Sorry, that's completely foreign to me. So don't you dare tell me to concentrate on my work ever again.

So since I adore the readers of my blog so much and don't want you guys to make the same mistakes that I make, I made up a list of things NOT to do when studying. I care.
1. Don't get up from your study session to stand in line for Tim Hortons because you absolutely need that second cup of coffee and muffin and you will die (seriously!) without it even though the line is already a million people long.
2. Don't go to the bathroom 7 more times (after already going 13 times) during your study session to look at your makeup and hair.

3. Don't go over to your boyfriend/girlfriend's place to study. You WILL get distracted. This is a given.

4. Don't sit down, read two lines from the textbook, and then decide to get a snack even though you just ate a whole meal five minutes ago. Then go back to studying. Then continuously get up to get food every 5 minutes after that until your kitchen is depleted and you're too full and sleepy to study anymore.

5. Don't study and then somehow teleport over to the computer and mysteriously be playing facebook games. Those things cannot get enough of me, honestly now. How I got from my studying desk upstairs to my computer downstairs I don't know.

6. Don't get into full scale arguments with your guy friend about whether or not Chloe Sevigny is hot.

7. Don't stare out the window at nothingness even if nothingness is probably better than your textbook.

8. Don't start writing Zeus hate mail when you should be studying about him.

9. Don't go to the bathroom one more time to check your make up or hair.

10. Don't let those people who go around passing out pamphlets at your school and petitions to sign distract you from your studying. Your mantra should be all "Okay, go away crazy dumbass idiot." Why do people always talk to me?

11. Don't gesture for people to come over to your study table and make "small conversation" that lasts more than 2 seconds.

12. And then get into debates with them about whether or not Chloe Sevigny is hot. (She's totally is and her wardrobe is to die for.)

13. Don't get Celine Dion songs stuck in your head.

So I know it's hard to believe, but I actually am a hard worker. I just don't know how to study properly. (My boyfriend says he likes girls who are hardworking, so guess what? I'm hardworking. Now that I've clarified that, please don't break up with me.)

Things I will never regret

Today I have decided to do a list of things I will never regret, as I have been doing my fair share of regretting lately:

- going out for a jog, even if it is a short one
- eating healthy
- going for the first kiss
- asking for what I want
- listening to Here Comes the Sun anytime, anywhere
- having that cup of coffee in the morning
- cutting certain people loose
- purchasing the concert tickets

There we go. That was fun.

In other news, I think that my belly piercing is rejecting, and I want to take it out...except that I can't unscrew the stupid barbell ball! I am freaking out and panicking cause I don't want to wait for the darn thing to reject and leave a scar, but I have tried everything and it still won't come out! Not really sure as to what I should do now.

random thoughts / Little Shadow

- Wow, so after posting personal pictures my subscribers went up by quite a bit. Hrm, will have to keep that in mind next down my numbers go on the decline.

- Every time my subscriber numbers go down, even if it's only by one or two, it's like a stab in the heart. A really really painful stab. Okay, so I'm being dramatic, but it is a downer. It screams "your writing sucks" or "you're just really boring." Oh well, it is a personal blog I guess. Even I get bored reading someone else's shit sometimes.

- To go along with the first, don't we all love those people who have time to upload albums and albums of themselves on facebook striking the same "cutesy" expression and pose in each one of their 50, 60, 70+ batches of pictures, except with the occasional outfit change here and there? And then when they've accumulated enough individual snapshots of themselves, they put them all together to make collages (yes, plural). Time restraints are obviously non existent for them, not to mention any narcissism deficiencies.

- I hate pretentious people. I hate self righteous people. I feel pretentious using the word pretentious.

- The Hills season premiere was on tonight!! Drama, drama, drama, I looove it. Man, I never realized how much I missed LC and her comments about people being "shady" here and there, left and right. I'm always so amazed at how much she's changed, physically. She's come a long long way since her Laguna Beach days.

- No matter how many times I reread my blog post before publishing it and no matter how many times I edit it, reading back on the same one a couple weeks later, I always always find a grammar or spelling error somewhere in it! I'll read back on this very entry a couple months from now, and I guarantee I'll find something wrong with it. Why is that?

- Craving cupcakes. These ones in particular:

- I've never been a fan of full back tattoos, but this is amazing. (Click to enlarge)

10 Random Facts

I decided to post up 10 random facts about me that I did quite a while ago, but never posted up...as with a lot of my other posts, it just kinda became a draft. I'm trying to publish some of my many many drafts that never made it to the main page.

10 Random Facts About Me (because I'm going through a list phase)
10. My favorite color is dark green. I abhor lime green.
9. I consider makeup and beauty a hobby
8. I love spinach...I eat it at least 3 times a week mixed in salad, or steamed.
7. I live for bargains.
6. I exercise while watching gossip girl on Sunday nights and top model on Wednesday nights
5. I have a huge tendency to blush even if I'm not embarrassed. I've had so many guys mistaken me for liking them when I feel the exact opposite, it's ridiculous.
4. I want my own personal library...my future house must have one (or just a huge bookcase of books like the one pictured above). I'm a huge book fanatic!!!
3. I'm actually not very light. I'm not 80 lbs like everyone thinks. People don't account for my butt, hips and thigh weight when deciding to give me a piggyback.
2. I dream of going to study at the Sorbonne in Paris.
1. I take my coffee 2 cream 1 sugar. But most of the time I just drink tea mistos.

--

Man, like I said, going through my list of posts, I realize I write a lot of entries on this blog that don't end up getting published because of their depth and detail...rants about people I know personally, confessions about my feelings towards the random people (some good, some bad) and...yes, there's probably one or two about a guy I'm kind of interested in. And of course, ramblings about guys...I'm not so interested in. And then there are posts like these that don't make it because I can't think of enough random facts about me in the moment...thinking of 10 things is hard work!

Some of these do get published--mostly the ones that are so vague, you couldn't figure out who the heck I'm talking about...it really could be anyone, and that's how I like it.

Old Yellow Bricks

My darlings, I have only changed my status on fb from single to blank...I decided to remove the whole relationship status from my profile.

So even if it says, "Samm is no longer listed as single" nothing's changed, I'm actually listed as blank-- I'm restricting my privacy settings more...as you know I've already taken off my wall and photos tagged of me. Hopefully that clears everything up and I get no more questions about that!!

I think this person sums it up best:
"Why does a person have to tell the world that they are engaged, complicated or single at all? I think these are private matters that a person should share with close family and friends. There's no need to flaunt"

- (Oh yeah, turns out I don't have to buy a new camera after all! My dad got the exact same one I wanted on my previous post just yesterday night! Hurray!!)

- (Man, no gossip girl for two weeks now. I need my weekly fix!!!)

The District Sleeps Alone Tonight / Random Tidbits

Mumbo Jumbo yet Again

- I am a true food scavenger. Not only do I have this compulsive problem where I HAVE to have some kind of food to nibble on while I'm in front of the computer, watching TV, studying, reading, whatever, I am constantly on the internet looking at food pictures. I save the pictures and randomly look at them in my spare time at school.

- I have this weird addition to Taylor Swift songs lately. They're soo catchy I find myself putting a truckload of her songs on my mp3 player and hitting repeat.

- I'm not in the holiday spirit like everyone else. I don't know why, maybe cause of all this studying for exams and the fact that I haven't so much as started any Christmas shopping.

- Which reminds me that I should be studying.

- I've been eating so unhealthily lately. Tomorrow, I'm going to whip up a spinach salad filled with whatever fruits and veggies I can find and cancel out the junk I've been eating lately.

- It's so cold out that I feel perfectly content staying in on a Saturday night.

- It sucks not having a proper camera.
Ever since mine got stolen in France, I have been camera-less now for 4 months and counting. So instead of being able to take pictures of friends, happenings, my cooking attempts, shopping hauls and camwhore, I've been forced to use stock photos on my blog posts.

Not to mention I'm still bitter over losing the pictures I had from Paris and the UK.

I'm planning to get one as soon as the holidays are over.

- I love making these pointless lists. You know what else I love? Reading people's "dirty little secrets"

A Lack of Color

Some random thoughts

1. I can't wait until this week is over.
2. School makes me ugly. Sometimes I wake up and I don't recognize what i see in the mirror. I have to pile on extra makeup to look back to my normal self.
3. The glow I had in the summer is long gone.
4. I'm stupid as hell in calculus.
5. You're growing on me.
6. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
7. Arctic Monkeys are love.
8. I wish people would be more considerate sometimes. Makes me heated when I think about it.
9. I'm turning into a huge health nut.
10. I feel so sick whenever I'm reminded of certain things. Sometimes, that feeling of downcast is so overwhelming. I try so hard to not dwell, but it's just a feeling i can't shake. I just want it to go away.
