$135 Abercrombie & Fitch Tanktop

Found this while browsing forums the other day:

100% cotton, Supersoft, floral screenprint with floral embroidery overtop, sweetheart neckline with ruffle trim, cinched at center of bust, empire waist, smocked in back with back tie-straps, tiered hem, moose embroidery, Classic Fit, Imported

Is this thing supposed to be orgasmic or something?!

Last time I checked, A&F was never couture. It's so outrageous how they can sell a tanktop for 135$CAD ($100 US)!! And even more outrageous that people would be willing to fork over this much without thought.

Man, maybe if it were adorned with jewels or emeralds or spun out of gold i don't know.
And since A&F is notorious for child labor practices, this piece of cotton probably took less than $1 to make.

A&F needs to get over themselves. Screw the supersoft, floral screenprint with the floral embroidery overtop, ruffle trim etc, IT'S JUST A TANKTOP.

edit: Found another one for 90$ CAD

I could go to Old Navy and buy probably 10 of the exact same tanktop.

Aren't we in the midst of an economic crisis? I mean maybe if everyone was basking in prosperity and riches and money was falling from trees. Even then I wouldn't even think of putting that much money on one of these.

Pretty Boys are What A Girl Wants

Just thought I'd share an interesting article I found a while ago but never posted:

LONDON–Forget the square jaw, rugged complexion and tough-guy macho attitude – what women really want is a man with full lips and feminine features, according to a British study published today.

The findings add to previous research about masculinity and offer further insight into what people look for in others when choosing potential partners, said evolutionary psychologist Lynda Boothroyd, who led the study.

"What I've shown is that when people look at masculine faces they see them as being associated with dominance – which is a good thing in evolution but less good as a long-term partner," she said in a telephone interview.

In the study, published in the journal Personality and Individual Differences, the researchers asked more than 400 British men and women to judge digitally altered pictures of male faces made to look more masculine or feminine.

The participants were then asked to predict personality traits such as dominance, ambition, wealth and whether a person would be faithful or a good parent, said Boothroyd, a researcher at Durham University.

But it wasn't the macho men who came out ahead.

The study showed these masculine types with larger noses, smaller eyes and thicker eyebrows were viewed as less faithful and worse parents.

Instead it was the "feminine" faces with wide eyes, finer features and thinner, curved eyebrows that were chosen as the best potential long-term mates, Boothroyd said.

Faces that also appeared healthier – like those with better complexions – were also seen as more desirable in all personality traits.

This helps to counter claims that masculinity is best viewed as an indicator of genetic fitness and immunity to disease, Boothroyd said.

"Here what I'm showing is healthiness is really positive and masculinity isn't," Boothroyd said.

"We shouldn't be thinking about masculinity in terms of health, which is a totally different thing in women's minds, but in terms of social dominance."

For me, I like someone in between, a mixure. Maybe more on the masculine side..than uhh pretty. I'm not entirely convinced that a pretty boy will make me be a what they should be--guys. Rather, they seem kind of fragile and plus I admit that I don't like feeling like less of a girl. Pretty boys are very very nice to look at but it ends there...It's a huge turn off if they obsess over what I obsess over--clothes, hair, skin.

Pretty boys that came to mind:

Wu Zun. This is what I'm talking about! This is too pretty. Look at his lips, the skin, the big rounded eyes. If he only grew that hair a little bit longer...

I never understood the hype around this guy...even though I admit he has the features that I want myself!
That's unsettling to me. Turn off.

This sums up the majority of the asian entertainment industry. What's in demand there guys who look like the two above.

There are guys like this who go to extremes such as getting eyelid surgery and using girly skin cosmetics. I could never date someone who so much took an interest in makeup. If I so much as found out that he had more beauty creams than I did or spends more time in the washroom getting ready than I did, or checks himself out in the mirror every few minutes in front of every single mirror we passed by...yeah no. Game over.

Another case in point:

Vanessa Hudgens on Zac: “She wants to date a man, not a little girl.” “Zac can be incredibly vain, obsessing about his weight.”

Baby V was left particularly red-faced just before the 12th birthday party for her kid sister, Stella, on November 13th. Zac had a meltdown and refused to attend the affair after noticing a pimple on the side of his face.

“He just flipped out. He knew there were a bunch of girls at the party who worship him-and he didn’t want them all staring at his pimple.”

Vanessa was only able to calm Zac down after she gave him her concealer to cover up the blemish.

“Vanessa told him to stop being a sissy and freaking out when he gets blemishes. Sometimes, when he goes out, Zac even wears makeup to cover up his imperfections.”

“Vanessa doesn’t want to share makeup with her boyfriend. It makes her feel weird.”

I remember reading this back last year or something and cringing. Please guys, don't cross that line that separates you from a woman.

Gaspard Ulliel is the most perfect combination.

Square One

I find it so unfortunate.

Coldplay - Square One
I'm going to never leave the house without some kind of painkiller in my bag from now onwards! This can never happen again!!

I feel thoroughly exhausted...got hit with cramps and a headache midday today and although the cramps went away, my head still throbs.

I literally went around asking coworker to coworker for some kind of painkiller, something, anything, today at work to alleviate some of the pain. After the 6th person, I realized that no one carries around anything of the sort. And so I went on for the next 3 hours feeling dizzy and not quite myself.

When I finally did get my hands on some once I got home, the headache didn't go away and I still decided to take it and go out. I ended up cutting short the plans anyway. I feel so bummed out about it.

So don't take it personally. Really didn't mean to take out my shit on a bunch of people today.

Live Forever - Short Update

Long weekends are absolutely guilty pleasures.

I had a blissfully enjoyable day today...went shopping with a couple of friends along with a movie and dinner at Moxies. I'm dead tired from walking around and eating so much food. It's been a long time coming and until tonight, I never realized how much i missed eating out! Food has always had the ability to smooth things over temporarily.

All in all, I'm breezing.

Someone make me get something done.
I'm so tempted to shut my books and go watch the election coverage.

I think....I think too much.

It's not a big deal, I know it's not personal, it's just hard to accept it and move along.
I want to almost giggle from this whole thing.
So ridiculous and inappropriate I can't believe it. What an eventful evening!

This really should be interesting.
